In 1963-1964, Moody recorded for Red Bird/Daisy Records in New York, a
record label founded by the legendary songwriter hall of fame inductees
Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller. The song
Everybody Come Clap Your Hands,
by Lieber & Stoller and songwriters Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwhich became an
instant hit. The flip side is a song co-written by Moody and Joe Jones, called
The Monkey Climb. After enjoying strong regional success, Moody left Red Bird
Records, then signed with John Richbough producer and radio personality at
WLAC Nashville Tenn.  Moody, co-wrote the classic song
Bustin' Outta' the
Ghetto
, released in 1969 on Sound Stage 7/Monument Records. This was the first
anti-drug abuse song at a time when drugs were rampant in the music business.
The song went national  and received picks on numerous radio stations and sold
well over 1 million copies.
Moody's music today is a hot mixture of his early stylings, combined with
contemporary blues, reggae, zydeco and soul.
In 1975, Moody teamed up with Soul Unlimited Records in Crowley, Louisiana
and ledendary producer Jay D. Miller, noted for hits by artists: Lazy Lester and
Slim Harpo, where he recorded another million selling hit single,
You Gotta' Be Motivated and the flip side, One Mans Happiness.
In 2004, Moody performed at The Monterey Bay Blues Festival and re-released
fresh new versions of these songs along with several new tracks on the CD titled
Simply Moody, available for sale on his website, Rhapsody, cdbaby.com and at
Borders Book Stores in Las Vegas, NV.
