Earl "Trick Bag" King, Alvin "Shine" Robinson, Chris Kenner, The Dixie Cups Joe "You Talk Too Much" Jones, and Nappy Brown, just to name a few. In 1963-1964, Moody recorded for Red Bird/Daisy Records in New York, a record label founded by the legendary songwriter hall of fame inductees Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller. The song Everybody Come Clap Your Hands, by Lieber & Stoller and songwriters Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwhich became an instant hit. The flip side is a song co-written by Moody and Joe Jones, called The Monkey Climb. After enjoying strong regional success, Moody left Red Bird Records, then signed with John Richbough producer and radio personality at WLAC Nashville Tenn. Moody, co-wrote the classic song Bustin' Outta' the Ghetto, released in 1969 on Sound Stage 7/Monument Records. This was the first anti-drug abuse song at a time when drugs were rampant in the music business. The song went national and received picks on numerous radio stations and sold well over 1 million copies. Moody's music today is a hot mixture of his early stylings, combined with contemporary blues, reggae, zydeco and soul. In 1975, Moody teamed up with Soul Unlimited Records in Crowley, Louisiana and ledendary producer Jay D. Miller, noted for hits by artists: Lazy Lester and Slim Harpo, where he recorded another million selling hit single, You Gotta' Be Motivated and the flip side, One Mans Happiness. In 2004, Moody performed at The Monterey Bay Blues Festival and re-released fresh new versions of these songs along with several new tracks on the CD titled Simply Moody, available for sale on his website, Rhapsody, cdbaby.com and at Borders Book Stores in Las Vegas, NV.
